An absent mind found what it thought it couldn't find
Flicked a switch and perceived the world too bright
Asked if it was too late and if the night would lend some time
Said it was a day walker who had been led by the blind

A curious pupil seeks knowledge not taught at home
Challenging answers to questions the blind choose to leave alone
Every truth is wrapped up in a lie with complex reasoning that's homegrown

Cloak and dagger, smoke and mirrors
The fat celebrity is airbrushed to appear much thinner
Paparazi zoomed in up close on her McDonald's tacky dinner
Now she sues the newspaper's chief editor

Every nation rules itself in greedy desperation
To be a bigger and better prosperous population
But a G-20 meeting over rules in favour of a one world nation
To rid the world of those who speak out in desperation

I've seen the world for what it really is
Where sales and marketing, PR and spin doctors are big business
Nobody can understand the complex small prints
"No win, no fee" solicitor demands 80% of greed
An accountant syphons off what he thinks a charity doesn't need

We are all led to believe and buy what we don't want or need
All status symbols for our neighbours jealousy
Bigger is better but the best all have smaller and faster technology
Governments want to know what's more profitable - iPhone or Blackberry?

Author said he was a child and soldiers fired in fear into his families hiding place

When you signup for something you don't fully understand
And your boss blames you for the blood on his hands
Make sure you're educated in facts and understand other peoples plans
And ask questions after reading the small print again, again and again
