"Mom, I'm home." she calls. There it is again. That fake smile she smacks on her face every time she enters her front door. "Hello, sweetie. How was school?" The question that seems compulsory every evening to her irritating mother. The mother who has no idea. The mother who doesn't know but should. The mother among many others who believes the broken smile when they see it. They just can't see how she's really feeling inside. The frustration. The anger. The pain. Every single emotion she feels every single day, every single year, every single tear, every single time before she sleeps. All the time.
There she is again. The girl with the broken smile. - ME.
