Land Of No Return: Part12

After 10 minutes of banging on the door, Anna realised that Charlie wasn't coming back so she sighed down at her now sore hands.
"If you're out there then I want you to know that I would do the same thing" She called through the door, hoping he was still there.
"He can't hear you, he's in the hut next door" A croaky voice sounded from behind her.
Anna spun round to find an old lady perched on the edge of her bed.
"I'm surprised, usually the beds that the white coats bring are lumpy. They must like the girl" She said, her grey eyes staring out at nothing.
"Excuse me?" Anna said.
"You're excused" She replied absentmindedly then suddenly looked at Anna. She stood from the bed and slumped towards her. As she got closer, Anna realised how short the woman was.
"Four foot nine" The woman grumbled, taking Anna's hands. She led Anna over to the bed, where they both sat, then Anna finally realised who the old lady was.
"Loopy Lou" She nearly screamed as the old lady stared at her.
"No need to shout, Shubunkin, I'm right here" Lou smiled, toothlessly.
"Why are you here?" Anna asked.
Lou hit her, just a tap on the head, then put a finger to her lips.
"Listen closely, Shubunkin, for I will only say this once." Lou whispered, leaning in. "The white coats come in the same way they leave. Seek out a cave on the eastern front and leave you shall. But I heed this warning, the entrance is heavily guarded. You will need to find another way in"
Banging on the door erupted then, making them both look up sharply.
"Anna" Someone called from outside.
"I wish you luck, just as I did with your grandfather" Lou said, quietly, as the door burst open.
Just like that Lou was gone, leaving Anna's fingers feeling cold and numb. There were multiple heads staring in at Anna against the glare of the setting sun.
Then, so short and sweet, Anna uttered the word, "What?"
