Lucy: Part3

Lucy turned slowly. She was slightly scared, hoping it wasn't her dad, but who she turned to see was more of a shock than anything.
Lucy screamed when she saw the boy who was towering over her. His dark brown hair was shorter than she remembered and his brown eyes lighter under the rays of the sun. Lucy screamed again.
"mark!" she smiled.
He smiled back. "gonna answer my question?"
"what question?" she asked, slightly confused.
"what do you think you are doing, Luce?" he asked.
Lucy looked down then back up at him. "standing in the sand?" she asked, wondering if it was a trick question.
"do not play dumb with me, Lucy. What are you doing here?" Mark asked.
Lucy smiled. "this is why you need to reply to mum's emails, Mark. She has been worried about you and if you want to know, I have escaped dad for the day" She replied. Mark was not happy with her answer, he didn't like their dad at all and he didn't like the fact that his little sister was in a place she had never been to before and she was with him.
"Where are you staying?" Mark asked, trying to hide his anger.
"A hotel round the corner" she shrugged then added, "please don't make me go back there yet. I don't know how much longer I can stand him watching me!"
He gave her a look. "He hasn't let you out of his sights yet has he?"
When Lucy shook her head Mark laughed. He hugged his little sister round the shoulders and while smiling said, "I will make a deal with you, I will show you around here and maybe you will get to see my flat too. But I'm taking you back and I am going to have a word with dad."
Lucy knew that wasn't a good idea. Last time Mark was left in the same room as their dad, he had punched their dad in the face. Mark hated their dad with a passion and with good reason too but Lucy didn't want Mark to get arrested again but she couldn't help but agree. After all, she hadn't seen Mark in three months.
"So, where are we going?" she asked and Mark just smirked but took his little sister's hand.
