She spends all day making his life easy
Housework done and hours spent making tea.
Willing to sacrifice her ambitions for her love,
If only she would tell him what she dreams of:
Walks on the beach holding hands,
Picnic and laughs lying on the sands.
Knowing that he still felt the same,
Hearing the truth behind the claims.
He goes to work and volunteers for yet more overtime,
Bills to pay and a pretence to keep that all is fine.
Hours wished away, thinking about
his love,
If only he would tell her what he dreams of:
Spending quality time at home with family,
Putting each other first instead of money.
Knowing that she still wanted the same,
Forgetting the past and moving on without shame.
She tries to keep her room tidy and clean,
Hearing shouted words, she doesn't know what they mean.
Wanting her home back that was filled with love,
Only she has the courage to say what she's scared of:
What happened to my bedtime stories at night?
Can't you see my fear when all you do is fight?
I love you both and want to know you feel the same,
Is it my fault you argue, am I to blame?
They come together and find the love they lost,
Realise that the best of life came without a cost.
Now they share their dreams, they are happy,
The most important thing in life is their family.
Holding hands as they all laugh on the beach,
Working for only what is within their reach.
No more shouting, no more tears, nothing to be scared of,
A family reunited because of a child and their bond of love.
