The tears that fall in the dark,
Dreams that fade away.
Overwhelming sadness,
When night replaces day.
Hiding pain has become a habit,
But cracks are in the dam.
I will not let her be washed away,
She makes me the man I am.
She leans upon my shoulder;
I will be her boulder;
I meant the words I told her;
I will always hold her.
Faking smiles for appearances,
Not believing what they say.
When will the sorrow end,
Can things ever be okay?
Reaching within to find herself,
Still clinging onto hope.
Winning each small battle,
Finding ways to cope.
She leans upon my shoulder;
I will be her boulder;
I meant the words I told her;
I will always hold her.
