Not In My Name

Where are the protestors, demonstrators and youth of today?
A system corrupted by incestuous power with none to stand in their way

Apathy rife in our land, eyes turned blind by the hardship we see
Fascist Networks scratching each others' back while 'I hope it won't affect me'

It's time to raise up our voices and together be heard
Before its too late and generations suffer because of what has occurred

Fat cat politicians scraping their barrels before the arse falls out
Join together and let them cower, let 'not in my name' be the shout!!

Stereotypes

I hate them. Why, simply because of my age, am I viewed as ignorant and immature. Just because some teenagers are miscreants with the IQ of a brick, it doesn't mean I am.

I'll Write You A Letter

Dear Prime Minister I've decided to write you a letter. Not in hope that things will eventually get better. But just to vent, about how you've taxed my breakfast and raised my rent.

So what's the plan then, Grrrrrfoot?! ๐Ÿ˜œ

@MrsS first find a very long wall....

@MrsS seriously though, at the very least everyone eligible must vote and thereafter make their MP accountable by the multitude of media available.. Boycott unethical businesses.. Join proactive movements and political organisations.. Take part in rallys.. Sign petitions and write letters.. Rebuild communities and get to know your neighbours and stand together, attend local MP clinics, ask what they are doing, ask how many hours they have sat at Westminster.. Then I'm sure loads new opportunities to be heard will develope ๐Ÿ‘โœŠ

@Burrfoot I'm sure you're right, we try to find ways of helping / changing / challenging in our own small ways... It can be difficult to achieve so much when we're all under so much pressure though, not that we should use that as an excuse to become complacent... I have various reasons for finding life a struggle day to day, of which I won't bore you (!!) But I will certainly try harder to find other things I can do ๐Ÿ˜‰ (must admit - MUCH to my dismay - a shocking truth: I don't vote ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜” Haven't voted for some time now... I got so completely frustrated and fed up with pretty much all politicians, that I gave up ๐Ÿ˜ž I just feel like it's a losing battle - whoever gets elected, they all seem to be the same, they all get corrupted by a corrupt system ๐Ÿ˜’

Its never easy to get involved and tbh, because of my job I legally have to be careful how involved I get, but I send emails and letters etc often to MPs and take part in events when I can.. Apathy IMO is a big reason why MPs think they can get away with it and until recently too many newspapers were more concerned with which celeb was shagging whom to keep politicians in check... But a big tuttut for not voting (wagging finger) even if it is to spoil your paper and make that your mark, everyone must vote

๐Ÿ‘ It's time to realise that these institutions are meant to serve us the people. I'll take a stand with you โœŠ

Great write and motivational comments Hun ...I bow before you oh mighty one ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚....seriously though...FAB ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Very true. There are too many people out there who believe standing up for a cause is liking a face book page๐Ÿ˜“

@pthasse well said that man.. Let's hope enough ppl want the change

@misslittleDHP cheers belle, people really do have power

@Blueblotts that's quite profound and I hadn't thought of that, but you've hit the nail on the head! Too many act out life online while too many turn protest into crime and greedy opportunity ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

@Blueblotts Wow, that was profound - succinct, straightforward and simple - altogether that = an excellent quote! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Œ

(Burr, you didn't tag me in your message, hence delayed reply!!) I know, I agree, I really should vote at least! ๐Ÿ˜” As I said, I have always wondered who to bother voting for though... As I understand it (I don't really fully understand politics either, so that makes it a bit trickier!!), it's often more of a local choice than Nationwide...?! I suppose I really should gen up... ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ I will endeavour as best I can to get involved from now on!!! โ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
