It's been a while since I've Oposted, I know, but I needed to point this out. Facebook conversations always start in the same mundane, predictable way. Let us call one person A and the other B.
A- Hi
B-Hi
A-How are you?
B-I'm not bad. What about you?
A-I'm good I guess. What are you up to?
B-Nothing much? You?
A-No, nothing really.
After that an interesting conversation may begin, but by the sound of this it's unlikely. Surely we could do away with this dreary formality and cut to the chase! I have omitted all abbreviations and replaced them with full versions for those who don't understand Facebook language (like me!) because I hate it with a passion. Of course they don't all go EXACTLY like this, but it's generally words to this effect. It gets on my wick!!!
