Perched behind a rock, I saw it. Not fifty feet away, and it was...indescribable.
Dazzling, emerald-green eyes, with a piercing gaze. Mesmerising to just look at the eyes.
The coal-black, glimmering scales on its back. Perfect disguise for the night. Then the wings...amazing. Like bats wings, skin-like, but with a scaly texture, and a huge wing span. The claws were like black, gleaming daggers, that could kill easily in on fell swoop.
A long, swooping neck, reaching into the heavens, with a handsome face, one of incredibly beauty and much wisdom if old, tucked away behind it. A reaching fire when it breathed. It's tail, whip-like, with a forked tip and a smooth appearance.
It was very purposeful in its movements, a slow, yet steady, walk, with watchful eyes looking for danger...or prey.
An animal behind me dashed though the thick, green undergrowth, startling the Night-Creature. It flew off into the night with graceful movement and perfectly timed wing motions.
It would never be seen again. The Night-Creature.
