An old one I'm digging up for #household
I look in the mirror.
I see no reflection.
No skull-head, no sickle, nothing looks back.
The man I remember
From yesteryear's picture
Is lost in translation, needle in stack.
I'd dreams like you once,
Passions and prizes,
All of you see what you're told to see
But if you wipe away
All the myths and the stories
You shall see me what I truly be.
A young man of sorrow,
Cut off from the world,
Blue eyes empty from crying in vain.
So cover the mirror
I can't stand it no longer
The reflection is altered by fear and by pain.
You won't come with me.
You beg for longer.
Your time is up but you won't leave
So cover the mirror,
Can't take it no longer
In your soft lamentations, won't you think of me.
