Why won't you lay your eggs for me?

Or make you work for free.
Yes the dog may sit on you
But it's only for the craic,
We feed you and we water you
We give you something back.
We gave you a little house
And let you roam our yard,
Not shouting when you dig up
Pansies, bluebells and chard.
If this is about chicken rights
Then form your picket line
Get your placards out
But you'll get bored in time.

You've a plug stuck up your bum.
