Do you ever wish
You could have a blank page?
Fresh and white and clean,
Pure
Spotless
Blotless, each stain removed
Sinking back into the parchment it had spoiled.
Each cruel thought, word, deed
Rubbed free from the conscience
It had gripped and tormented,
Absorbed into nothingness
Some unknown, sponge
Sodden, soiled with transgressions
Then rinsed, faultless once more
The filth of the soul removed
Forgotten
Vanished.
Do you ever wish
Hope
Dream
For a blank page?
