When I in wonder survey endless skies
I cannot help but think of you, my love,
When I raise my weary Traveller's eyes
To limitless web of heav'n above
I see you filling what was once a void,
Now timeless beacon to guide my voyage,
And all that once my weary heart annoyed
Is quelled by my passionate pilgrimage.
The Pole Star in this winding, storm-tossed age
Which was lost under Heaven's crowded state,
Now needs only you to guide my passage
Back to your dear arms which faithfully wait,
Closer now than any star's been before
My muse, friend and lover forevermore.
