Friends are the most fabulous people one can have in your life, lets face it, we get to choose our friends and therefore have no-one to blame but ourselves when things go wrong and we discover that these "friends" are not what they appeared to be when we first became friends.
During the journey of life, many people come into our lives and one at times mistake acquaintances for friends.
Unfortunately, acquaintances are many, but true friends are few.
If one has a handful of friends during a lifetime, consider yourself blessed. True friends are few and far between.
Friends have compassion, are ready to listen when you need someone to talk to, offer comfort in time of heartache, a shoulder for you to cry on and lift you up when you are down.
Friends do disagree, even argue but somehow are always ready to talk things through and most importantly, to forgive and forget.
Friends should be held close to our hearts as next to ones family, are extremely important.
Some of us do not have loved ones or family near and just think how lonely one would be without a friend around to offer love, understanding and comfort.
A friend could end up being your soul mate, lover and very permanent feature in your life. Who knows where friendship could lead. How amazing to find that in the end you have a partner now who is no longer just a friend.
So when you find a true friend, and this person is part of your life, think before you say something that could hurt, belittle or degrade your friend. Try not to say things in anger that you could regret later. If we find that we have such people in our lives, lets forgive them, get them out of our lives and move on.
