I awake to the smell of smoke and rise immediately, fearing the possibility of a fire. I look around and my vision was impaired. I see white spots and darkness surrounding it, and slowly they shrink and I see Hetro sitting a metre from me, eating some meat.
"You've awoke, sleeping beauty. Seeming alarmed." He says between bites of the meat.
"Well considering my last memory was of seeing a spear in my leg, blacking out then smelling smoke before I'd even opened my eyes, I think anyone would be alarmed."
"I guess. And I also guess you have a million questions?" He replies.
"About two million, actually, but I think now's not the time for nearly all of them."
"Ask away."
"OK, firstly can I have some food?"
He turns and picks up a similar price of meat to his own, and passes it to me.
"Thanks, and where did you get this?"
"Shop up the road, next to the luxury jewellery store."
"The woods then?"
"Yep." He says with a smile.
"Right. How... What or who did the spear come from?" I say, chewing on the meat which was sweet and juicy, and most likely rabbit. "Oh, and no sarcastic answers."
"Another camps guard. Probably the Uriken camp. They hate trespassers."
"And why did I black-out?"
"Because it had tranquilliser in the head."
"And where are we now? "
"In some cave." He says, delivering the words with a toothed smile.
"In some cave? " I repeat.
"Yeah. I ran with you on my back away from them, and came across a small cave to shelter in. I then went out and found some rabbits."
"OK, enough of 21 questions now. That's enough for my curiosity at the moment." I say, finally returning his smile.
I finish of my rabbit and put the left over bones to the side. His was long gone. As he put the small fire out he said, "you ready to go?"
"Yeah." I reply, getting to my feet.
He picks up his spear. I guess we left the chain behind when we were running, but he might have a spare. We walk out and I look up into the sky, and stretch. It's great to see daylight again, but as I really take in my surroundings maybe it's not. All around us were impatient looking tribe people, each holding some form of weapon - from sharp sticks to iron swords- and staring at us.
