Ivory teeth and golden eyes glistened in the twilight glow of the night. His ginger pelt blended with the trees, and his large paws cushion the loudest of the noise. I could see him coming, and fled, disappearing into the camouflage of the trees. My face flush from running, in my chest, my my heart thrummed, feeding off the adrenaline. He wasn't incredibly graceful as he chased me, his paws clumsily landing on the leave littered ground. I was thankful for this, at least I could hear him coming and run before he could get to close. In the back of my head, my conscience told me to climb a tree, get my sent off the ground, but none of these trees were large enough, sturdy enough, to hold me up. I could hear his deafening bark echo through the night and the steady thump of his paws draw nearer and nearer. 'Don't panic,' I told myself, though I feared it was too late.
