Unaware of what
lurked in the
darkness
Sat perched up high
a lovely
sleek Goddess
With fur
as black as
night
something swift
has captured
Her sight.
With that
the hunt
has
begun,
with the
moon as
Her guide
instead of the
sun.
Set on her
haunches she
powerfully
springs
the light
catches
Her eye
excitement
gleams.
Treading softly
on tiny
feet
ears alert
honed to
the
heartbeat
Quick pounce
a toss
around
No more
prey to
be
found
A short bath
before the break
of day
And with much
grace
She slips away
into the
nights
embrace
