I tidied up my room today,
Oh heck, was that a task!
It's like the 'room of requirement',
All you need's to ask.
Seriously, the things I found:
Pictureless picture frames,
Ancient, weathered toothbrushes,
And pieces from long-lost games.
Teddy bears I thought were gone,
Daisy chains and socks,
Little diamond earrings,
Aboriginal painted rocks.
Drawings done by a younger me,
Notes I passed in school,
Photographs of memories,
Snooker balls from pool.
Mouldy bits of chocolate,
An empty goldfish tank,
I know I should be well ashamed:
My room's completely rank.
Watches with no mechanism,
iPod docks and cans,
Russian dolls from Holland,
And some continental fans.
Notes on Russian history,
And on McCarthy's 'Road',
Under my bed some rabbit crap,
It seems they've had it stowed.
Souvenirs from Italy,
A hairbrush never used,
I'm sorry, room, for all this woe,
I know you've been abused.
It took me several hours,
To clean the mess away,
I know for a fact it'll all come back,
Probably later today!
