When I write on Opuss,
I write to be heard,
Not to become first...
Or second... Or third.
Yes, that's a challenge,
But not a single aim,
It ruins every prospect,
Of the word-fuelled game!
'Likes' make me happy,
And 'reposts' are rather fun,
But my rank's not top priority,
In the long run.
I write to get my words out,
Not to jump a rank,
I write because I love it,
It's Opuss we should thank.

@crowncottage thanks! Some people are too fixated on being high - I mean, I like the challenge, but I wrote for enjoyment rather than rank-hopping!
@HeatherAnne I wish everyone did! As you said, it is fun to have 'likes' but it does get a bit too important sometimes.
Tbh, I do it for both. When I plan my writing, I plan to rise in rank, but when I actually start writing, it's all about me in my little bubble, and my words😊
@DuRoLuRo ...like I said, ranks are fun and they add challenge so there's an element of both in there, that can't be denied, but there's more than just rank to consider.
