I wish I could take it back,
The words dripped from my tongue,
Those putrid things I threw at you,
With spite and hurt I slung.
A pang of pain inside of me,
The smell of my regret,
A mould I shaped unwillingly,
I left too long; it's set.
Wishing I could take it back,
Erase what I had said,
Take back every single tear,
I know since then you've shed.
But life does not have a 'rewind',
What's done is done, and done,
I can't erase the awful feeling,
That I have jumped the gun.
