A splash of sunset makes the sky,
A 'V' of geese and ducks there fly,
The colours vivid, is it dye?
Until the eve, it bids goodbye...
Red and gold and blue and dusk,
Mottled with the evening musk.
Silver, white, a splash of grey,
A gorgeous way to end the day.
Melting into moon and stars,
Orange, russet, brightened scars.
I could stand and watch the sky,
Watch the birds and more birds fly,
Watch it steep like unwashed dye,
Until it bids its last goodbye.
