Who Am I? Part 4

I pulled off my hood carefully watching the new guy. His eyes widened only a fraction before setting themselves in stone - keeping detached. I watched people a lot, moving around you tend to notice things more. How people act in different places, the slightest of body movements could fill the gap of a thousand words. And that's what I notice. Eyes showed everything even when you don't want them too. I smirked to myself, clearly he had not seen himself looking after a teenage girl. I looked him up and down, black suit - bleehh. I love suits on guys just can't they wear something more - normal?
"Lewis. Lewis Aesom" he greeted his voice void of emotion hold his hand out to me.
"Delilah. Delilah Redgrove" I answered in the same tone mimicking him, smiling as I did so finding it highly amusing as he clenched his jaw. I shook his hand firmly and I walked around him just looking at him.
"We'll let you two get acquainted, I'm starving" Eddie once more letting his stomach control his brain. He turned on his heel and exited the room with Garry following behind him.
"So... Soldier?" I asked raising my eyebrows slightly walking back to the front of him. He was quite stocky and clearly had muscles beneath the suit.
"Reservist" He answered watching me carefully.
"Do you know what you've signed up for? This, not the Army" I clarified again walking behind him but this time stopping and looking down to the bags on the floor making him turn around to see what I was doing. Two green and khaki back packs were stacked on top of each other next to the pillow on the floor. He had the pleasure of sleeping on the floor it seems. I smirked as he began to answer me.
"I've been informed of some of the details - wha... What are you doing?" he asked
"Oh just... Looking" I mused looking around the room, two pale grey walls the other two lightish purple, an en suite was close to the door with a lock "So these details... Miss out my age and gender I see"
"Err hang on how...?" I smiled at his confused face
"Your eyes, you can tell a lot about someone about their eyes" I answered "When I took my hood off your eyes widened slightly you seemed surprised" I followed up realising I probably sounded a bit like Sherlock Holmes or something.
"Yeah they did miss that bit out" he admitted pushing his hands in his trouser pockets tilting his head slightly watching my actions as I walked to the bathroom to snoop.
"What were you told? And who told you I wanna ring their neck for not mentioning me" I replied my voice echoing around the pristine white bathroom.
"Erm he didn't tell me his name I was only told Garry and Eddie's. I was told a lot of travelling was involved and I was to be looking out for any suspicious activity surrounding an item of great value to him"
"ITEM!" I exploded appearing swiftly in the doorway of the bathroom glaring at him. Lewis looked taken aback at the speed and ferocity I had yelled. "They called me a fucking ITEM!?" I questioned again hoping this time for actual words not just body language.
"Yeah, well he used the word item hesitantly" bless him he tried to make it sound better.
"What did he look like this man who told you I was a fricken item?" I snapped
"I don't know he was on the phone" he answered honestly
"Wouldn't it be fricken ironic if he was on a swivelly chair in the dark shadowing his face?" I laughed, but it didn't seem right it came out more dead than humorous.
"A little James Bond-like" he smiled obviously seeing the humour, than the emotion or lack of it I heard.
"Yeah well, anyway welcome to my life" I opened my arms wide gesturing to the hotel room.
"Do you live here?" he asked confused
"Feels like it, only not this one specifically loads and then I get fostered for a little while but not many people want a sixteen year old girl it seems" I shrugged, I had asked many a time for Garry or Eddie to take me in so I didn't have to go to a different family. They said they couldn't, weren't allowed, against the rules. I told them I didn't want rules to my life, no one was going to dictate what I wanted to happen. The next day I moved in with a lovely family and the whole cycle happened again, I left after so long, we'd travel, stop, find a new family who were willing to keep me for a while until it all happened again - but they didn't know that.
"Why?" he asked
"I don't know, I really don't it's just what happens" I shrugged sitting on the bed and flicking the TV on. Lewis leant against the wall, his hands still in his pockets, watching me and frowning. "How old are you?" I asked curious looking over my shoulder to him.
"22" he answered I nodded and looked back to the TV not really watching it and hearing it but not listening, feeling butterflies in my stomach as Lewis sighed audibly and ran a hand through his hair before throwing it back in his pocket and walking close by me to sit heavily on the bed next to mine. Is this the start of a crush? I've never really had a crush on anyone, sure I've liked them but nothing more. I suppose I blame my upbringing, as I do for everything. I suppose I blame my father and all the secrets that he seems to be the key for unlocking...
