Poet Battle

Deep inside there's turmoil
Within my beating heart
With every laboured thud
It's tearing me apart

I feel lost amongst the waves
Adrift and far from shore
The cold wind battles the stormy clouds
And rocks me to my core

You see I am a war zone
A conflict of dark and light
But when you can't see the battlefield
It's hard to stand and fight

I feel almost like a superhero
Who's tired and lacking the will
To ceaselessly push back the dark
Of which he's drank more than his fill

Or maybe more like a thief
With a fortune made of gold
His heavy conscience reminding him
Of every item sold

One of life's greatest mysteries
is the battle of wrong and right
The fight of good and evil
The war of dark and light

Maybe there isn't a victor
And neither one will fall
Because one without the other
Means there's nothing left at all

When Your Best Isn't Enough

What do you do when your best isn't enough. When you try so hard and it's just too tough. Do you just stop living. Do you lay down and die. Do you make an extra effort, Or do you just start to cry.

@IndiaSparrow Excellent!! :)

@Fly10 @Weirdwolf cheers guys :D

@Stablish my idea has spread quite a bit eh?

This is great, I read it without realising! So I'm the lone ranger, you're the thief...kind of set apart aren't we :)

Yeah, I suppose but I'm still a kind of good thief? (if such things exist) :P @Nom

@IndiaSparrow Robin Hood was a good thief! So yes it's possible :)

@Nom and as for lone rangers, well... I suppose they are a bit of a mix like my thief? Neither dark nor light? But I suppose that's up to the writer ;)

@IndiaSparrow that was the intention! A neither/nor kind of thing.

@Nom good good, it appears we are actually on the same page for this, I haven't quite made my mind up yet. I think lights winning though...
