Why Do I Write?

The answer is very simple to me
I write because it sets me free
Weaving words with love together
Let's me journey beyond forever
Delving into my imagination
Fills my heart with quiet elation
From wild adventure, to passionate romance
From pent up rage, to one last dance
From inner strength, to depression
I enjoy my self expression
At last I can just let myself go
Escaping from the world we know
In my world I can finally choose
Who is allowed to win or lose
I show emotions I don't usually share
Writing gives me strength to dare
I've always written, it brings me hope
Through tough times it's helped me cope
I owe so much to my paper and pen
For helping me face the world again
Writing is truly a vital part
To the functioning of my heart
To answer your question, writing, why?
I write so I can dream and fly.

Love this song/poem - the words are so true The Rose Some say love, it is a river That drowns the tender reed. Some say love, it is a razor That leaves your soul to bleed.
