Is your head so empty
That you wish it to be filled
With other people's
Misguided words?
Is your heart so barren
That you get your self-esteem
From only what the
Mirror shows you?
Do your veins pump for
Popularity and fame,
Instead of talent, hard work
And well-earned gain?
What a wasted generation,
Greedy wannabes,
In trendy sweaters
And skinny jeans,
Craving attention and love
From extrinsic sources
Forcing their bodies and souls
Into an ill-fitting mould,
Because they know not
How to love themselves
As individuals,
Forgetting that innovation
Depends on differentiation.
Shame on you,
Media, press, society,
For selling an air headed dream
Of fake-perfection based on
Lies that they can never achieve.

I love this poem it is so true. I use to want to fit in but now I'm happy just being me. Love me as I am that's my motto :)
