You can't say it's not real,
You don't know what it's like,
You don't know how I feel,
Torn in two,
Ripped, bleeding,
And I don't know
Which of you will mend me,
Stitch me up and make it better,
And which I'll have to crush,
Drown in the pool of blood
That my divided heart has spilt
All over my life, staining me.
I'll never be the same again,
Never be sane,
Whilst I live this double life.
You can't say it's not real,
You don't know what it's like,
To love one, old,
To be in love with another, new.
Truth be told,
I know what I want,
But the hurt I will cause
Stays my hand from the axe,
And his head from the block.
I will agree,
It's completely selfish of me,
But understand, I didn't mean
To fall for another man,
When I already had one.
But when the problems
Became overwhelming,
He was there;
Green eyes and kind smile,
A man-shaped ray of sunshine
In my pitch-black sky.
You can't say it's not real,
You don't know what it's like.
