The lights are off,
The darkness sweeps,
Alone at night,
A shadow creeps,
Watching idly,
While I sleep,
Waiting nightly,
While it peeps,
For a moment,
To make me weep.
Something's wrong,
This isn't right,
Something's lurking,
Just out of sight,
I feel its eyes,
Take in my fright,
I sense its form,
Absorb all light,
But most of all,
I feel its spite.
The room brightens,
Like it's healing,
To show me what,
Needs revealing,
I sit upright,
And start squealing,
A gruesome sight,
Sends me reeling,
It's watching me,
From the ceiling.
