Cross your t's and your heart,
Be quiet and don't even start,
Children should be seen, not heard,
Their behavior is just absurd.
Lie in bed and say your prayers,
Eat your broccoli and your pears.
Brush your teeth and your hair,
I say, these rules just aren't fair.
Take your medicine, swallow it all,
Shoulders back, stand straight and tall,
Don't slouch in your chair,
Don't let your jeans tear.
Don't get all dirty, be careful now,
Greet people with a shake and a bow.
Do this, do that, follow my rules,
And never, ever skip school.
Powder your nose, paint your toes,
Line your lips and keep 'em closed,
Cross your legs, dot your Iβs,
And never let 'em see you cry...
