Once there was
a Summertide
that seemed to last forever.
It stretched into eternity, ending never.
How I miss those far-flung days
when friends were always at my side.
We grew together in a sun-lite haze,
in never-ending Summertide.
We would laugh and sing
at everything
that ever caught our fancy.
We would run all day
until the sun slipped away,
then in the darkness, cold,
we swore we would grow not old.
What I would give
to have those days
to live them over.
Those days are long gone now you see,
so sit a while and remember with me
the Summer of Eternity.
