Jewellery Box

To keep your socks.
Nor is it a place
To keep a fox
Or your grandfather clocks
Or any amount
Of igneous rocks.
A jewellery box
Is for wedding rings
And bracelets
And necklaces and things.
You'll also find
A length of string
And a three foot seven
Angels wing
And sometimes
they sing
But an empty jewellery box
Oh what madness!
They should all be full
With gladness
Not badness
But if empty
What sadness
These boxes aren't just
For jewellery
They keep alive
A memory

photograph of you

#household. All that I have. A photograph. It's pretty much. An epitaph. A hymn for love. For you and me. And a love. That cannot be. A timeless shot. Your pretty face. Beautiful. Filled with grace.

Momento

#household. One day I'd like a fireplace. To place the only memento I've got. A beautiful Victorian fireplace. Upon it I would sit a clock. A clock given to my grandfather.
