On, little Kestrel, away you fly;
Catch the wind and soar on high.
Flit along on wings of song,
Beyond the bounds of mortal rule.
Let no evil do you wrong,
Nor persons seek to ridicule.
With swiftest sight, and ears so keen,
Evade the chains that you descry.
Heed no jester, king or queen,
Go, brave Kestrel, away you fly.

Thanks for the lovely feedback, folks. I should explain a little about this poem. It is a short nursery rhyme from my novel-in-progress. It was told to my protagonist, Kestrel Daystar, by his mother.
