Trends And Hipsters

Cookie-cutter people have never appealed to me. Fads come and go, and barely anybody truly sits back and watches as they pass, ignoring the deluge of their companions rushing to see what's new.

Even so-called hipsters, who hate the "mainstream" media, have simply broken off from the mainstream and created other mainstreams, which defeats the purpose in my opinion. Individuality is slowly being squashed from people, as they themselves rush to fit in, ignoring the thirst I hope is present within themselves to assert their individuality, lest they all bullied back into the thick grey cloud of the collective human soul.

And people who will tweet from their Blackberry Bold, or Apple Macbook from a cafe in Westfield, with part-shaved, dyed hair, new chinos, and new Air Yeezys that they hate the sheep that migrated from Facebook to Twitter, or the sheep who download every word Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga utter, or the sheep who just now heard of a new band, rapper or singer that they've been listening to for "months", will undoubtedly fail to notice the ocean of hypocrisy atop his mountain of arrogance.

Therefore, in my humble opinion, do what you want to do, within the reasonable restraints of your society, and don't let the more aggressively assertive "shepherds" corral your personality.
