No, don't slip away.. Liam, don't..
Everything went black.
Liam's lips on mine..
Not real.
Liam's arms around my waist, pulling me closer, closer..
Not real.
How come I could feel it?
I found myself able to open my eyes, so I did so. And there I was, in Liam's arms.
This had to be Heaven. And if it was, it was worth dying for.
But Liam's eyes were open, staring into mine. "What happened?" I asked in a whisper.
Liam's eyes were full of tears as he responded, holding me closer.
"You killed yourself.." he started.
I interrupted him with a soft kiss. "I know that. But why am I here? You're breathing, I'm breathing, and I can feel your heartbeat."
Liam's expression changed to a gentle smile. "I sat there, the night of your funeral, praying you'd come back to me. I could feel you with me while I was crying, could feel your arms around me. I knew you were there. But your arms were losing their strength, I knew that. So I got up and walked away before I lost you forever. I prayed for hours, that you'd be in my arms the next day. And here you are."
I smiled and nuzzled into his neck. "Does everyone still remember?" I asked, my voice muffled.
I could feel Liam shaking his head. "No.. So I had to break up with Lindsey by text. With what I heard from Dylan, she's moved on."
"Already?" I asked, shocked.
"It wasn't real," Liam reminded me softly. "And I just want to focus on me, you, and the rest of our lives.. As long as you still want to live yours," he added, his face troubled.
I looked up and stared into those eyes I knew so well.
"Liam, I'd do anything for you," I whispered.
He shook his head. "I don't want you to do it for me. I want you to be happy."
I smiled. "I'll be happy where you are."
"Amy, Amy.." Liam said, burying his face in my hair. "Ditto."
