Don't You Know About The Basement P.2

'Jake, just go to your room,' My Aunti pleaded with a hint annoyance entering her voice, 'I don't want you to see anymore than you already have'
'What have I already seen? Why did they take that man away?'
'This doesn't concern you, now go to your room!'

I had never seen my Aunti so angry, at least that's what I though she was. Once again her eyes were telling me she had been crying, but the rest of her face told me nothing of the sort. I was about to protest but though better of it. I walked out of the dining hall with my head towards the floor, an into the long hall that was paved with cushiony red carpet.

There were at least fifteen doors on either side of the hall. Each had their own golden number nailed to the door. I was going to room 13, my room.

As I approached my door I suddenly heard raised voices coming from the room opposite mine.
'-you can't expect to keep us here for ever, it's inhumane!' One voice said and I instantly recognised it. It was the old man from the dining hall. I had never asked for his name or heard it spoken but his voice I could remember well.

The other voice suddenly spoke.
'We aren't hear to make this a pleasurable stay.' the voice said, it was a man with a deep voice that made the door rattle.

There was more speaking but this time it was more hushed. The last thing I heard was the deep voice speaking.
'-off to the basement with you.' he said.

I heard footsteps coming towards the door from the inside of the room. Without a moments though I unlocked my door, ran inside and pressed my ear to the door.

'Please don't do this!' the elderly man called, probably loud enough for everyone in the dinning hall to hear. And with that the voices stopped and he was gone.

I love dark horror stories with unusual twists. Don't be expecting many cheerful stories from me. :)
