I started to rub my arm. A bruise had started to form.
"We are just like you, Joanna." He replied.
"But who are you? What do you mean just like me?" I was starting to get scared now. I had no place to go if I were to run, my parents had just sold me. Where was I supposed to go?
"You were adopted, you know?" The man said quickly.
I nodded, I had known that. I had known it since I was little, it was something my dad would never let me forget. I had never understood why though.
"You were born with us." He replied. "You were too young to stay, it was too dangerous for you, so we sent you to an orphanage and decided to track your life. We came to your parents when you turned sixteen and made a deal with them. We brought you back." He seemed pleased in himself.
"You brought me?" I said. "And you expect me to find this story enlightening? You brought me off my parents. They sold me and you brought me. You made a deal to buy me, how do you think this makes me feel?"
He shrugged. "Happy? You are finally coming home" He grinned.
"That was my home and my life" I screamed. I was so tempted to jump out of the car. He must have sensed this because he put the child locks on.
"Please, don't." He whispered, sounding suddenly small. "It will all become clear in time, I promise you, but for now, please try to get some sleep. The journey is quite long"
I turned away from him and looked out of the window. I had never been so far from home before and I didn't know what to think of it. I was with a complete stranger, a man who looked like my dad, and I was in a car with him. I had nowhere to go and I was too afraid to sleep, so I just moved down in my chair and watched the stars.
Somewhere out there my parents were asleep, or partying, but they were there. So were my friends, my best friends. I wondered how they would feel about me disappearing and what my parents would say about it. I wondered where I was going and what the song was on the radio. Most of all I wondered what would happen to me. I fell asleep halfway through that thought but I awoke to the man talking on the phone.
"I have her, Michael." He laughed. "We are on our way to you now. Have you told the others yet?" He paused. "Oh, that's not good, Michael. If Luther turns the others against her. He hasn't even met her." He paused again then laughed. "You're right! We'll be there around midday tomorrow. Trust me, Michael, she's the one."
And then he hung up as I unwillingly drifted back to sleep.

Awesome! There is just one thing that bothers me, and I see it throughout your posts. You often use "was" when you should use "were". For example, you said "When you was young", but the grammatically correct way is "when you were young". Do this, and it will take your writing to a whole other level, and more people will enjoy and repost it!
@PianoGirl94 thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it ☺. It's one of those things that I am so used to doing that it has become sort of a habit now. Thank you, I'll correct it and try to break the habit ☺☺
Your welcome @BethyBoo! It's always good to get positive, constructive criticism! It helps us grow, and become better at whatever it is we are doing! Keep up the good work! I have no doubt that you are going to be a famous writer someday!
