Ridicule? Ridiculous!

I really want to be different,
I hate all that is 'not'

My music taste's eclectic,
I love the stench of body rot

My clothes, they are a cool nightmare,
My face, it's set hard and grim

(Ssssh, don't tell anybody,
But it's hiding a little sensitivity deep within)

My hair is dyed black,
Finger nails match that too,
I have the best 'evil frown'
I'll use to try to unnerve you...

I never like things if others do,
Unless they are deemed 'weird' or 'alternative', of course

I like to make people feel sh*t about themselves -
I tend to cause plenty of uproar and discourse

So, if you like anything 'normal'
Or you don't have opinions like me...

I'm going to try to make you feel stupid,
It's how I make myself feel better, you see?

It really is quite simple,
Something went and f***ed with my head,
So I'm taking it out on the world at large,
I'll put all my problems on YOU instead

I really can be quite obnoxious,
Rather rude and extra outspoken

But not in a good way, no, that wouldn't do,
Gonna kick, scream and snarl to get my message through!

But when you stop to look at me,
Don't ponder for too long,

I want you to be SCARED of me,
Oh no! You've worked out that I'm not quite so strong...!

Don't give me any sympathy!!
I'll just kick it right back in your face,
Gonna stick with my kind, feeling angry on rewind,
Cause this is the place I feel most comfy.

Come on guys, is it really so necessary,
To live out your life in this way?
Why can't you grow up, be nice or just shut up!
If you can't do that, then well, just go away?

I can't listen to your snarling remarks anymore,
Doesn't upset me like it did before,

It's just that I grew up and got a life,
And I haven't got time for all this strife!

So, make amends, agree to disagree?
Or just go back to your miserable hole and leave me be!!!

NB: This is not aimed at anyone here, it's about a sad group of people I used to hang around with many moons ago (they still haven't grown up!) - being nasty about anyone and everyone that doesn't conform to their idea of 'cool'.
It's also NOT about anybody who likes to dress 'differently', or listen to 'eclectic' music, etc.
It's about people who ridicule others for not being like them.
(ps, I went through loads of phases, like punk / goth, etc, and my music taste is extremely varied - I just don't get nasty with others if they are not like that!) x

I like this, and agree with your point at the end 👏👏👏👏why bother judging people it's a waste of time, effort and can be spiteful x

@minxyMolly @RichWithey It completely defeats the purpose, but the either don't care, or are too silly to have realised this point?! I never dressed to conform - I've always dressed how I like - if everybody did the same, we'd all be unique and giant fashion houses would probably not be so rich!! Be yourself, but be kind, that's what I say! (that's not to say I haven't offended people before - but certainly not by meaning to!).

I love this and the msg and totally get where your coming from, who wants to conform! And judging ppl is usually based on ignorance 👏👏👏😘🎄

Agree. You sound like me going through different phases. I was different at school. Goth and all arty farty. But there were others just like you described. I don't think you'll offend anyone every one has there own point of view. But there is a good message in here. 💚👏

@sjw @eddie12309 @Stablish It's all a balance isn't it... I'm perfectly happy for people to dress 'alternatively', be generally 'different', after all, variety is the spice of life and all that!! I just can't stand it when certain people seem to think they're being really unique (when actually they're not, but they don't even realise it), and they are quite nasty to anyone they feel is not in their little group. Thanks for the RPs 😘😘💝💝💝💝

Blah, subculture snobs suck! I've always been rather random myself but never felt the need to force other people into it! Sure, I may not like their clothes/music/scene but it's nothing to do with me! I'm a live-and-let-live type of girl 😊 although I have been known to make the odd snarky comment (but only to people who are rude to me! I got a lot of abuse for being the only goth at my high school - sometimes I just had to give a bit back 😁)

@Irrational_Kimmi I'm with you on that front! I was exactly the same. We used to get a lot of flack coming out of the rock nightclubs at the end of an evening - caused by all the so-called 'normal' 'popular' teens / twenty-somethings: kinda funny when we were the ones who dressed 'weird'. We were actually the nicest bunch of people (on the whole). This post was aimed at a group, as you put it so well, of 'subculture snobs' that I used to go around with (ex-boyfriend😉😒). They were, and sadly still are, pretty closed-minded, rude and, actually, really babyish for people approaching 40!!!!! 😘😘
