Putting the world to rights,
on the way to school.
Taking all the shortcuts,
because we're so cool.
Doing maths homework,
the lesson that it's due.
Travelling in crowds,
even to the loo.
Doodling on arms,
with permanent marker.
Watching teachers eyes,
as they get darker.
Missing detentions,
just to go to book club,
Drinking at C13,
as if we're at the pub.
Giggling at crushes,
and teasing each other.
Form tutor smiling proudly,
like a second mother.
Sharing crazy stories,
with every tiny fact.
Promising, forever,
making a pact.
Tightly-woven family,
All my 'bro' and 'sis'.
These are the memories,
I know that I'll miss.
