Awesome It Was, I Tell You.

As the snow melted I wept in awe.
I jumped in the air and
Yelled: Yippee! at the top of my voice.
OMG I said, I see green again!
Could it be for real? or
Just a figment of my imagination?

To be sure I shuffled my feet slowly,
Along the ground -
So I wouldn't fall on my ass,
As had happened so many times before!

It was for real alright,
Snowdrops and daffodils raised their heads,
All over the place -
Telling me Spring was awakening.

You slip. Slidy thing, I said,
You won't bother me again for another year!
As my last teardrop,
Melted the final flake of snow.

Sometimes..

Sometimes all it takes. Is a smile from a stranger. The embrace of someone you've missed. A thank you from a passer by. The lightning bolts of a first kiss. A photo to remind you.

Two Seasons

Hot summer days. Sweat drips. And not a cloud in sight. A glass of lemonade. Make it cold. With five ice cubes. A slice of watermelon. And chile powder on the side. Sandals on my feet.
