Painting my heart,
Colours of the rainbow,
Whenever you are here,
All the colours glow.
Red for fiery passion,
Love, anger and fire,
Red for what you yearn for most,
Your fiercest desires.
Orange for a happy glow,
Cosy and safe and warm,
Orange for a soft candle,
And a sleepy yawn.
Yellow for bright sunshine,
But poisonous acid too,
Yellow, a colour of two faces,
Joyful or toxic, you choose.
Painting my mind,
Colours of the world,
Ribbons and birds,
For you the colours whirl.
Green for grass,
Or forest dark,
Green for sourness,
A tainted mark.
Blue for calm,
The eye of the storm,
Blue for electric,
A ever-changing, shifting form.
Purple for power,
In a subtle, gentle way,
Purple for slyness,
And carefully sneaking away.
Painting my body,
I dance along in tune,
To all the different colours,
We will be united soon.
Pink for vanity,
Perfection that is fake,
Pink for boldness,
A risk to take.
White for malevolence,
Disguised by purity,
White for hiding,
It only shows what you wish to see.
Black for night,
Welcoming with outstretched arms,
Black for safety,
You will come to no harm.
Painting ME,
As I stand covered, head to shoe,
Breathing it all in,
The colours of me and you.
