Dreams

Every night,
Same routine:
Go to sleep,
Have a dream.

Morning comes,
Sunlight dawns,
No more rest,
Cease the yawns.

Bathroom time,
Mirror fright,
Just one look-
What a sight.

Shower down,
Scrub away,
Erase the mess,
Start the day.

Stop and think:
Last night’s dream?
Not again,
I'm gonna scream!

Back in bed,
Want to cry,
All these dreams,
Don't know why.

Every night,
Four nights straight,
Dreams of us,
It feels great.

Lie in bed,
Just unwind,
Close my eyes,
Rest my mind.

Dream away,
A perfect scene,
A perfect love,
That's so serene.

You and me,
Just us two,
When I sleep,
Dreams come true.

Let this last!
Let me feel,
One more time,
What once was real.

I wake alone.
Just the thought
Makes me want
What we are not.

Tonight, I'll sleep,
