Crossfire.13

Erin
Neither Anna nor Ryan had come to school on the day following Uro and Anna's argument. I wasn't surprised by this, though. But when neither turned up on Wednesday, I found it curious. By Friday, I was worried.
On Friday evening, after I'd changed out of my school inform, I decided to check everything was okay at their house. What I found was the place in an absolute state. At times it seemed that Ryan was obsessive about the cleanliness of his house - as his mum was normally home late, he was the only person who could clean. And if it wasn't clean, he didn't like it. Once he'd even cleaned my house because he couldn't concentrate with a speck of dust on the floor - or so it seemed. But evidently something more important than cleaning had come up.
God only knew what. I didn't think I wanted to find out.
Ryan let me in, and I went and sat on the sofa. It was the only clear space. The rest of the room was littered with paper, most of which seemed to be clustering around his laptop and on the coffee table. The laptop itself was currently on standby, the black screen showing nothing of what the papers were all about. They made no sense - pictures of places, random comments and words, among other things. A few pieces were simply blank.
Although Ryan seemed normal, for his house to be in such a state must mean something was wrong.
I looked him in the eye, and we waited a few moments in silence. I waited for him to speak.
The words rushed out of him in one breath, when he did finally speak. "Anna's been kidnapped."
I furrowed my brow in confusion. Why would she be kidnapped?
More silence. "You know I told you how it wasn't my secret?" He asked.
I nodded.
"It was Anna's. Her name isn't Anna, and I didn't know her until two weeks ago - when we had that thunderstorm. She's..." He trailed off. "Winged." He said simply.
I gawped. "Anna has wings." I said, slowly.
He nodded.
"Wait. You met her on the day we had the huge thunderstorm? That Sunday?" I asked.
He nodded again.
"That was when I met Uro. He arrived in my house, as a dog. He taunted me, and laughed at me. Then he fled. It was strange. He also told me you and Anna were lying, remember?" I looked at him questioningly.
"You told me Uro was a HellHound, right? That's a type of demon. Anna's an angel. That's why she has wings. I met her in my attic - she was injured and confused. She has amnesia. Even she doesn't know much about herself."
"So she was pushed from heaven by Uro?" I asked.
He nodded, before looking confused. "How did you know she was pushed?"
Oops. "Ummm...I kind of eavesdropped on the two of you when you were talking on Monday. This was just after Uro had said you were lying, so I was trying to figure out what you were lying about." I grimaced. "Sorry."
He shrugged. "I'm just surprised you didn't completely oppose and reject the idea of an angel, so I don't really mind if it took a little eavesdropping for you to believe it easily."
I smiled, before pausing and frowning again. "Do you know who took Anna?"
Ryan shook his head. "No, but they did leave this note." He handed me a small folded piece of paper, with neat black hand writing on it. I also noticed it had a feather taped to it. I looked at it.
"Is this one of Anna's feathers?" I asked.
"I think so, it looks like hers." He said. It felt weird thinking of her with wings, and I wondered what they looked like. Ryan had obviously seen them.
I read the note, then re-read it. I handed it back to him. "The last line says she 'healed the human woman'. What does that mean?"
He thought. "I don't really know. She said she was an emotion angel - able to change people's emotion. Though she couldn't control it - she took bad emotions into herself, and heightened good emotions. Maybe she did that to Tina?" At my confused look, he explained "The woman she healed. Moms receptionist."
I nodded. Her ability to change emotions also explained how she'd made me feel better when she'd touched my hand. It was all a bit much, but I tried to process all this new information as best I could. I gestured to the papers scattered about, and asked "What's all this?"
He chuckled, and rubbed the back of his neck with his hand self-consciously. "Well, most of it was searching the Internet to see if there was anything about angels or demons. More specifically, the location of hell."
"Why hell?"
"Anna told me that one thing she remembered was how the world was a long while ago. She also wondered if the entrances to hell were still in the same place. And I think if a demon did take her, which I'm pretty certain it was, then hell would be the logical place to look."
I considered. "So, how can I help?"

It's been a while, so I though I best add the next chapter!

@Rayne

I love to write - though I rarely finish the story, constantly skipping to a different one half way through. Hopefully one day I'll make a story good enough to finish = )
