Aubrey sat in Derek's room, combing through her wet hair with her fingers. It was a dark green, a few band posters on the walls. His bed had basic grey covers, there was a desk and small bookshelf in the opposite corner. Derek tossed her a towel. "Nice room." She said. He dried his hair quickly. "Thanks." He said, looking up, his hair ruffled adorably around his face. She smiled, squeezing her hair our with the towel. Derek winced, standing in place. "Derek? You okay?" She asked. His eyes widened. "Derek?" "You need to leave." He grumbled. "What? Why?" He tumbled to the floor, he made a s noise of pain. Through his t-shirt she saw the V-shape lines emerging from his back he stared up at her, the gold burned in his eyes. "Please, Aubrey. I'm sorry." "What's happening Derek?" She trembled. "I was going to tell you." He said. She touched his back, feeling the lines grow larger, coming out from his back. His fingers curled into fists as he let out a cry, before Aubrey could say anything more, a pair of white, beautiful wings emerged from his back.

"You're a... You're..." Aubrey said, backing away. "Aubrey, I was going to tell you, I swear. I'm an angel." He said, the gold in his eyes burning brighter. She stood, frozen, staring at him. Slowly, he approached her. Her while body trembled. "What.. What am I supposed to say now?" She said. "I wont hurt you Aubrey, angels are good remember?" She nodded. He guided her to his bed, she sat down, eyes still wide. She looked mesmerized. "Can I touch them?" She asked shakily.
Derek nodded. She ran her hand down the silky white feathers, fascinated. "When you get into the supernatural world, theres no way out." Derek said. "I have to, file them down. Every few days." "Does it hurt?" "Like hell, makes a bloody mess." He said. Aubrey remembered how ridged he appeared in english. "So, we're both freaks." He laughed. "Yes, Aubrey... We are."
