I am the moon that loves you cold in the night’s sovereign, alone and old.
Through your window I shall creep in, lay on you like water, shine kissing skin.
I am the light that leaks through your veins, I’ll start your heart once, I’ll start it again.
Rays are my fingers, touch your sleeping lips, you take your breath and you take sips.
As you drink me in, sliver down your throat, you wake up, yet I only gloat.
I shine on your walls, colour of my despair, as I am so far away and you are so fair.
