They were both young, students at the same university. Essex, to be exact. Her parents disapproved, disowned her, were disgusted. His were elated, celebrated, couldn't wait to set the date. And in amongst it all they were there, together, lost in each other.
It didn't last long, not really. Eight years, maybe. Long enough for it to be painful for everyone involved.
