A Love Poem

The thought still haunts me,
A connection was made,
Your stare pulled me closer
The laws have been laid.

I cannot love you,
Nor you can love me,
Don't blame my brother,
It was not he.

The day I was told,
Your families bad,
I cried out my eyes,
I'd lost what we had.

I wanted to now,
Did you feel the same way?
I would still think you'd,
Come save me someday.

I look at your pictures,
You haven't changed one bit,
Your hair like sunshine,
Your eyes like grit.

Now you have a girlfriend,
She's pretty as could be.
I can't help but tell myself,
That should be me.
