I'm brand-new
Just out of the box
I can come with a small toy
Or the picture of a fox
You wear me
With or without socks
I am very sturdy
One who won't mock
I protect your toes
From all the harm
So keep me on
I'm like a good luck charm
We go on journeys
Much rather a lot
And you always place me
In a very special spot
But now you've worn me too much
I'm ripping at the seams
No more color, no more protection
I no longer gleam
I'm too torn up
So you throw me away
To get some more
That very same day
I have some scars
But you do too
I wouldn't throw you away
Without feeling blue
I'm your shoes
So very much like you
We've grown up together
But now it's time for roads anew.
