Let darkness come
Try to frighten
But 'tis welcomed
For my writes, it enlightens
Creatures beyond us
Lurk in our shadows
In stories, they haunt
Come back from the gallows
Hear a creak
Curiosity flickers alight
Wonder if you should seek
A possible murderer of the night
Darkness invites questions
And calls for an adventure
If it's my fate that beckons
I'll never be sure
No light, no sound
Just a soft purr of the wind
Heart begins to pound
Mind begins to bend
Careless and fearless
For curiosity rules
Venture further into blackness
Like many fools
A sudden rustle
It's just the leaves
From behind, hair is tousled
As I'm soon kidnapped by thieves
Try to scream
But receive a bash to the head
A small light greets and gleams
As I take my final rest, dead
