Look at us, hand in hand,
Walking in the rain,
It's cold-the water a freezing glacier,
But when I'm with you, I feel no pain.
As you guide me along the path,
Our hearts beat softly in time,
Your firm palms are warm,
Snaked comfortingly round mine.
The bucketing water is chilling,
Sinking through my clothes,
But with you there beside me,
The shivers do not show.
I feel your glowing warmth against my skin,
Trickling delicately through my veins,
I feel protected. Safe. Shielded.
The icy chill doesn't stain.
