Two peas in a pod,
Emerald and perfectly shaped,
Plump, green specs of romance,
Dressed in turquoise capes.
Hugging each other tightly,
As if they were stuck by glue,
The perfect little couple,
Paired like me and you.
Never, ever ones to argue,
Despite being drilled in place,
Sharing every last moment,
Until they end up on the dinner plate.
Every day they await their fate,
Clutching each other firmly,
Never wanting to be separated,
Instead-to stay with their family.
They know that one day the day will come,
When they will have to say their final farewells,
But for now, they'll appreciate their time together,
Even though the dreaded separation dwells...
