BITELESS CHAPTER 10

Chapter 10
“What are you talking about? You’re starting to really creep me out” I said as Damien turned the car into my driveway. He sighed.
“Ok. You understand that my whole family are vampires don’t you?” He asked me in a serious voice. I was confused of course I knew that.
“Yes”
“Ok, so they all want you. To kill you” I understood that too.
“Oh don’t I feel special” I said sarcastically. I mean they wanted to kill me.
“Yeah, well you are. You are very special, to me” Damien said, I smiled.
“So what do we do?” Do we hide? Do we stay? Was he going to leave?
“You are going to enjoy your holiday and I’m going to protect you in every way possible”
“But you won’t leave me right?” Please say you won’t!
“I won’t leave you unless I have to” Ye- no! He might leave me. I sighed.
“Why would you have to?” I said, deeply upset now.
“If I am putting you in danger then I have to leave” He sighed. I wouldn’t care if I have to stand in the middle of a spiders web, I didn’t want him to leave. But he wasn’t leaving now so I had to cherish these moments.
“You wouldn’t leave without saying goodbye would you?” I didn’t that Damien was the type of guy to leave without goodbyes but there was always that doubt.
“I would never leave you without saying goodbye” He confirmed.
“Thank you”
“Should we go inside?”
“Depends. What time is it?” I asked
“Half nine” Damien replied in a soft, sweet voice that I loved.
“We have to sneak in” I explained. He laughed as I realised my window wasn’t open. Darn I wanted him to carry me.
“Jessica?” He knew.
“Yeah”
“Actually she’s going to bed” Damien stated.
“To read most likely. How do you know?”
“I can hear her. Watch, she’s turning off the lights” I looked at the house and saw each light go off.
“God you have good hearing” I complemented and he laughed.
“Vampire thing” I laughed at how casual he was at this. After five minutes Damien and I went inside the house and walked upstairs to my room. I flicked on the switch and decided I needed a shower.
“I need a shower” I announced. So what exactly were the shower arrangements?
“Me too. Together?” I laughed at him. No way. I had only known him for what… A few days.
“Nope” He laughed but I knew my answer wasn’t the one he wanted to hear. Tuff. Maybe someday just not yet.
“I knew you would say that” Damien said still laughing.
“Yeah… Don’t get any ideas handsome” I smiled.
“If I do?” Was he flirting? He was.
“Not going to happen. Not yet” His laugh turned into a smile. I stared into his dark red eyes and smiled before putting my arms around his neck and kissing him.
“Ok. So shower?” He asked. Shower right got it…. I giggled.
“You go first”
“Alright” My room had its own bathroom so Damien went straight in. While he was in the shower, I grabbed my pjs out of my suitcase so I had them in hand when Damien came out in only a towel. His hair dipped and made me smile. I giggled and walked into the bathroom.
I was still giggling, after my shower. I put on my pjs and looked in the mirror, my hair looked bad so I dried it and brushed it though. How long had I been in here? 20 minutes? 30? I walked out of the bathroom feeling refreshed. Damien was already in bed, but not asleep. My gaze travelled to his chest. He was shirtless.
“Hey, come and get in” He ordered and I did. i put the cover over us both and I snuggled into his warm body “Your cold princess”
“Yeah sorry” I was freezing, the north pole could be warmer than me right now.
“There’s nothing wrong with being cold” I laughed and gradually warmed up. “Better?” I nodded
“How old are you? I mean your real age” Maybe he really was just 17, I doubt it.
“204” Seriously? Wow
“Wow” I sounded like I was being mean.
“Thanks” Damien said sarcastically. Oh my gosh.
“No I didn’t mean to-” I was shocked and amazing not annoyed.
“It’s ok, I know what you mean” I laughed and kissed him “Do you think we should get some sleep?”
“Yeah” I yawned and lay back on the pillow with my eyes open. I couldn’t sleep.
“I don’t think you can sleep with your eyes open” Damien said, I laughed slightly and gave him my best smile.
“I can’t”
“Do you want me to close them for you?” I laughed and Damien kissed me passionately. My eyes instantly closed. “Good?” He asked, I laughed and opened my eyes.
“Good” Better than good actually “But I don’t know how I’ll ever sleep now. You might have to kiss me again, so I remember” He kissed me again and I laughed into his kiss. “Do you think you can sleep now?” He laughed. Maybe. Maybe not. “Only if you hold me” Excuse!
“I can do that” He put his arm around me and I moved as close to him as I could before falling into a deep sleep…
